Class Descriptions

Beginner Yoga — For the un-experienced, new to exercise participant or rehab client. Postures will be instructed and guided through slowly and each participant will have a chance for complete individual attention and modifications will be shown as necessary. Monthly hand-outs for home practice are included. 4 week block sign-ups, with each block having it’s own focus. Ie. Block 1-spine, Block 2-hips & shoulders, Block 3 – Breath work etc.

Drum — Great for rhythm, hand, arm co-ordination and upper body & core strength. The drum classes are built around West African drumming and traditional rhythms. We have a few extra jembes and duns for drop ins. Bring your own if you have them. The first visit is free, so you can see if it's for you.

Kundalini Yoga — is a dynamic system combining breathing, movement, stretching, core strengthening and meditation to increase flexibility of the spine. Kundalini Yoga is an ancient science, powerful, trans formative, spiritual technology; fast focused and effective. Every level of participant is encouraged and welcomed.

Musclefitt — Hand weights and body weight are used to challenge all the muscles of the body to create a toned, strong frame. Upper body, lower body, abs and core, learn new moves, train smarter for noticeable results. Beginners welcome, we will teach you what you need to know.

Private Training — Need individual attention, do not feel comfortable in a group, scheduled classes do not fit your needs? Have specific goals individual to you? Contact Sandy, and set up your own time, your own results, your own privacy……..let’s be fitt on your time! Pilates reformer, xp90 circuit style, personal yoga practice….it’s up to you!

Pure Pilates — Coordination/Alignment/Concentration/Core Control /Breathing/ Fluid Movement/Endurance/Relaxation and Release
We stimulate the nervous system on several levels so people can connect with movement from the inside out to develop what is called kinesthetic awareness. As this awareness is refined and participants learn how to assess the quality of their movements, strength, flexibility, agility and balance emerge in ways that amaze. We literally reprogram muscles to move joints better and wake up muscles that have been sleepy or underdeveloped. With careful intervention we help people get out of pain, some of whom have suffered for decades with chronic discomfort

Spin — High octane cardiovascular training…..to pulsing, energetic, motivating and moving music…..train your heart like there is no tomorrow. Adjust the bike to accommodate your fitness level and feel yourself getting fitter and slimmer with each ride. Does not tax the knees and hips as running may in some individuals, a low impact, kind way of training on the joints.

Yogafitt — Using the Flexband as our tool, we awaken all the muscles, ligaments and tendons resisting the eccentric pull of the Flexband. A total body work-out followed by standing and seated yoga postures directed by the participants breath. A light meditation is the finishing course, suitable for all fitness levels, beginners to trained athletes alike. A fantastic overall mind/body/soul experience.

Yogalates — A scintillating mixture of Yoga & Pilates…..learn both concepts, enlighten your mind and body. Treat yourself to the best of both worlds, like heaven and earth, right here at the beautiful studio in the Alton Mill. Breath work, core work, alignment and balance. Control your body with the mind and spirit.

YogaZen — Learn to breathe, oxygenate your cells, the essence of life itself……flowing, repetitions of yoga postures directed by the breathe. Take your inhalation deeper, more deliberate, add purpose, clear your mind from needless worry. Enjoy this class, learn to live fully with clarity, love and peace. Guided meditation with relaxing visualizations bring closure to the class.
